Scheduled - Emergency Hotfix Release for Legistar – Scheduled Tonight

Legistar will undergo an emergency hotfix release tonight to address the ongoing latency, usability, and formatting issues introduced in the previous release.

Maintenance Details:

Start Time: 10:00 PM MDT
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Impact: Users may experience temporary service disruptions while accessing Legistar.
Our engineering team has identified the root cause of the issue and implemented a resolution. The problem was introduced by a recent Microsoft .NET Framework update, which unexpectedly altered how data is transformed within the system. To correct this, we have rolled back to a previous framework version.

Important Note:
Files created between 8/22 and 9/11 may continue to display formatting issues. New files created after 9/11 will not be affected.

Action Required For Customers Using Single Sign-On (SSO):
For the fix to take effect on your system, please complete the following steps after the hotfix is applied:

-Close Legistar.
-Delete the L5 folder from your Legistar program directory (usually on your C:\Granicus\Legistar5\ folder. If it is installed in a different directory, you can locate it by right clicking on the Legistar program shortcut, choose 'Properties' and reference the path in the 'Target' line.)
-Restart Legistar.

Monitoring - Granicus has implemented a Legistar SSO Login Fix – Action Is Required
**Important** These actions only apply to Legistar SSO customers who have had trouble logging into Legistar.

To apply the fix for the Legistar SSO login issue:

1 - Close Legistar.
2 - Delete the L5 folder from your Legistar program directory (usually on your C:\Granicus\Legistar5\ folder. If it is installed in a different directory, you can locate it by right clicking on the Legistar program shortcut, choose 'Properties' and reference the path in the 'Target' line.)
3 - Restart Legistar.

This will download the updated files and restore SSO login functionality.

Resolved - The scheduled maintenance was completed successfully on September 5th. As part of this release, we introduced a blue-green deployment approach. This enhancement allows us to run two identical production environments side by side, one active (blue) and one staged (green). Future updates can now be validated in the staged environment before being switched live, reducing downtime and minimizing the risk of service disruption.

Along with this deployment strategy, additional stability improvements were made to strengthen overall system reliability and performance. Our teams have confirmed stability following the release and will continue monitoring to ensure consistent performance.

Expected Impact: Service downtime of up to 6 hours

Our standard OneMeeting release is being postponed until later in September. In the meantime, we will be taking a planned maintenance window on September 5 to implement improvements to the compiler service.

Customer-Focused Improvements
This update introduces key infrastructure enhancements designed to improve performance and reduce downtime risk:
- Deployment of load balancing for Compile Services to optimize traffic distribution and reduce service bottlenecks.
- Strengthening platform reliability and scalability to support future growth and stability

Additionally, we are rolling out internal telemetry and monitoring capabilities to:
- Capture more granular performance metrics
- Improve visibility into system health and user activity
- Accelerate issue detection and response

Compile Services
- Load balancing implementation
- Telemetry upgrades
- Enhancements from August 29 deferred to a future update

Service Availability
All services can be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance window. Our engineering teams will work diligently to minimize disruption and ensure a seamless update process.
